Some people call them fitness trampolines, others mini trampolines, or
exercise trampolines and now, urban rebounder trampolines. Whatever you call
them, when you use them they all provide the same end result - a fun way to work
out and get fit.
There are many types of machines and equipment that you can buy to get into
shape. I’m sure you’ve seen a least of few of the many infomercials on TV with
the latest and greatest must have exercise apparatus. But while they may look
appealing, all you need when it comes down to it is a way to regularly speed up
the rate that you pump blood through your veins and put oxygen into your
muscles. And you really don’t need a fancy piece of equipment for that. Running
and walking are cheap alternatives but they aren’t always the easy option,
especially in winter or if you live somewhere that doesn’t have a suitable place
to run or walk safely. That’s where a fitness trampoline works well.
What Should You Consider When Buying a Fitness Trampoline?
There are several mini trampoline benefits. A fitness trampoline doesn’t have
the size or the weight of a big trampoline which means it’s easy to use indoors.
In comparison to a regular trampoline it’s relatively small but large enough for
jumping without falling to the floor.
While you may think jumping isn’t much a workout, thanks to the required
force that your body needs to be able to maintain a perpetual jumping motion,
it’s an excellent alternative for cardiovascular exercise. And because it is a
simple piece of equipment without mechanical parts, it doesn’t require the same
level of maintenance a bike or a stepper would, and it’s a lot cheaper.
But what should you take into account when buying one? The first issue to
consider is the quality of the trampoline. Do not go for the cheap ones that are
sold at some retail stores, some without springs or a safety cover over the
trampoline springs. A fitness trampoline under 100 is probably going to damage
your joints and won’t perform as you expect it to. Don’t waste your money on
those. Because even though they seem cheap, how much is a damaged knee going to
cost you?
So when you take this in account, you should look for a fitness trampoline
with a price above $100, probably more like $150 to $200. If you are a first
time buyer, then go to a sport store and check out a few different options. The
fitness trampoline you choose has to be able to easily take your body weight,
some come with a stabilizing bar which can be helpful if you’re just starting
out, and you need one that has a secure pad that covers the trampoline springs
because you don’t want your ankle slipping through the gaps if you happen to
lose your balance. Also look for one that easily folds away if you don’t want to
have your fitness trampoline permanently set up.
Where Can I Buy A Fitness Trampoline?
You can either buy at a retail outlet like Sports Authority or online. If
you’ve never played around on a fitness trampoline then you should go to a
retail outlet and at least check one out. Have a bounce on it to get the feeling
of whether it’s something that you are likely to enjoy using. It’s also good to
be able to see a few different models on display and talk to a sales assistant
about the differences and advantages of one model over another. Whether you then
decide to buy there and then or return home and continue your research online is
up to you: there are many different models available so you may want to think
about it a bit before making your final decision. Either way, you will walk away
from the store knowing what you need to look out for and the approximate price
you can expect to pay for your fitness trampoline.
