There are many things that can age your trampoline and make it unsafe to use.
You usually don't realise until the weather warms up and you decide its time to
start bouncing. If it is has been awhile since you last used your trampoline,
then you need to carefully check that it is still in good working order before
anyone uses it.
Accidents, age, wear and tear, the elements; many things are attacking your
trampoline, so here is a quick guide to help you repair a trampoline. First you
need to assess the damage, make a list of materials and tools, then gather the
supplies and make the repair. Then just make sure you take good care of your
trampoline so you will not have to repair a trampoline again.
Assess the Damage
First, see why your trampoline needs repair. Is elastic ripped, or a spring
rusted or sprung? Or is the rail padding getting frayed? Perhaps somebody got
cut while on it, is part of the frame broken or scraped? After you have checked
the list of possible repairs in the manual that came with your trampoline, then
you need to gather the needed materials and repair a trampoline!
Gathering the Materials for Making the Repair
After you have decided what you need to fix your trampoline, make a list. If
the elastic is ripped or worn you may need to take it to a tailor or repair shop
to have it sewn. If the mat is getting slack you may just need a new one. And
finally, if a spring is broken take the part to your local hardware store to
find a match then get home, grab some wrenches and get to work fixing the
spring.
All is not lost if the frame is broken or scraped. First find out who was
horsing off or playing a prank and then make them pay for the damage. No, I am
not kidding. Then find out if it can be repaired or if it will have to be
replaced. Many brands now make it easy to repair a trampoline frame. Many parts
can be found at the store you bought the trampoline at, or you can go online and
find many replacement parts on e-stores. If you should have to repair a
trampoline, or if you are the one who broke it make sure you take good care of
the equipment in the future so it can be useful for the years ahead.
Taking Care of Your Trampoline
Taking care of a trampoline is simple. Keep it out of extreme weather, and
out of the sun, never hit it, or attack it with sharp metal objects, and play on
it responsibly. And you may not have to repair a trampoline again for a long time.
